Not *exactly* fine literature, but I know a lot of you are fans of the comic. The Complete Calvin & Hobbes - three hardback volumes in a slipbox. A popular pre-order on Amazon, apparently.

WAI! \^o^/ Looks like I'll be trading in all my old beat-up paper backs (yes I have nearly all of them). Far Side is really awesom too, but I've always been a bit more partial to Bizarro.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash, and i am delighted to say that I have no grasp of it, whatsoever.

I know I am late to this conversation, but I would just like to declare that Calvin & Hobbes is the greatest comic strip that has ever graced this earth. As you get older, and re-read it, you get something new out of it each time. All hail the Watterson.

I agree. Did anyone else read the Calvin and Hobbes books at Dr. Weaver's office? I did; I started going there in the third grade to get braces, and I read them every visit since. I wonder if they are still there...

Oh man, yeah, that was definitely what going to Dr. Weaver was all about for me. I hope they're still there.....and still the same beat-up old books that we read.

Found some interesting stuff about Bill Watterson. Here is a recent article about him, which includes a picture of him. And here is a page with a treasure trove of rare drawings he has done, including some of his work from his days as a political cartoonist (pre-C&H) and several self-portraits.
